Alkaline diet: How it Works

One the most popular Diet Plans of today is the alkaline diet or some may call them alkaline acid diet even though there are some controversial on this type of diet, dieters are still going for it to try their luck. Basically the alkaline diets practice consuming foods and drinks that contain alkaline or have the alkaline effect on our body. The reason for this is to neutralize the acidic foods that we consume. The alkaline foods normally consist of vegetables, nuts, fruits, roots etc. Because in general, our daily diet consist of meat, sugar, alcohol and caffeine, the pH level in our system is consider high and affect our cells. After consuming alkaline foods, it neutralize the pH to an acceptable level and as a result, it reduce the chances of getting many types of diseases. This is how an alkaline diet works.
